For most pet owners, the special little furry or feathered friend you own is much more than a "pet." Pets in most households are important family members, and easily entwine themselves around our hearts in a very short time. Pet ownership is a luxury, a joy, and a responsibility, yet the dimensions added to our lives as we invite them into our households are limitless! Their dependence upon us is great, yet they return so much back to us in various forms of devotion: unconditional love, loyalty, willingness to please, companionship, a good "listener"... the list could go on and on! Chances are good that if you've chosen to have a pet, you want to care for it and provide for its needs as best you can to ensure a long, healthy quality of life. Joining with you to that end is the local veterinarian in your town or city. That's where Bogue Animal Hospital West would like to introduce itself.
Founded in 1930, Bogue Animal Hospital West has just celebrated 75 years of offering comprehensive, quality veterinary care with concern, compassion, and excellence going into the third generation of this familiar veterinarian name. Now located on the west side of Wichita on Maize Road, Dr. Gregory Bogue, Dr. Jason Albertson, and support staff are continuing the tradition and standard of excellence in their services - which include medicine, surgery, ear cropping, orthopedics, dentistry, emergency care, grooming, boarding, diet needs, avian care, and limited retail. Bogue Animal Hospital West continues to reach for, and attain, the standard of 3-year AAHA accreditation, a standing they have held since 1933. For those who entrust the care and safe-keeping of their pets to this facility and staff, this means that pet owners can rest assured that the quality and standards of the hospital's facility, medical equipment, practice methods, and pet health care management remains in the top 15% of all small animal veterinary facilities in the U.S. We also can serve as a reference guide for dog training, breeding, doggie day care, and other concerns.
In addition to our AAHA affiliation, our veterinarian staff also has current membership in the American Veterinarian Medical Association, the Kansas Veterinarian Medical Association, and the Wichita Veterinarian Medical Association. Both doctors are supporters of the Wichita Emergency Medical Center as well.
Our facility is well equipped to welcome you and care for your pet. There are four examining rooms, computerization, EKG, Pulse Ox and NIBP monitoring equipment, excellent outside laboratory with less than a 2-hour turnaround time, a separate surgery suite with adjacent wake-up room, isoflurane anesthesia with central oxygen and active scavenger system, ultrasonic dental scaler and polisher, IV infusion pumps, instrumentation for most soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, warm water circulating pads, a fully stocked pharmacy, 37 cages, 18 indoor runs, and a separate isolation ward.
In addition to moving into a newly constructed facility in 1998, Bogue Animal Hospital West is very proud of its staff of eighteen. Whether you come into contact with the doctors, technicians, customer service representatives, kennel helpers, or our professional groomer, should you happen to drop by, you will sense professionalism with a warmth and caring for you, your pet, and fellow staff members. You will be greeted, served, and educated. Often times you will be hugged, encouraged, understood, prayed for, invited to shed a tear of either joy or sadness, and always welcomed to ask questions. In short, WE CARE!!
