Meet “Cocoa” and “Reeses” (as in peanut butter cups!). Megan brought these furry little pals in to meet us for the first time recently, and we had a blast learning more about them and observing their personalities as well as treating them. Having no other pets in her home, these two guinea pigs rule the roost and provide the family with many smiles.
How did Megan decide to have pet guinea pigs? At one point, she saw one at a friend’s home and decided it was “cute,” so subsequently she picked one for herself! Having two is lots more fun, she shares, because they play with and entertain each other. Cocoa and Reeses are like three animals rolled up into a neat little long-haired package, she tells us. Guinea pigs are like bunnies, as they move their noses around and “hop,” (called ‘popcorning:’ like pigs because they ‘squeal;’ and like kittens because they ‘purr.’
If you’ve never considered these members of the rodent family, perhaps this will peak your interest!
