Dusty is a Lab mix that will be 9 years old in March. Gwen went to buy dog food at Petco one Saturday back in 2000 and the Humane Society had her on display with a little “Adopt Me” bandana on. She was 7 weeks old and had the most beautiful blue eyes. When I saw her I knew she was coming home with me and she has been such a joy from day one. She was the perfect puppy and never went through that problematic puppy stage. She is a typical Lab that Lives For Water! Even as a very young puppy, we couldn’t go on a walk without her pitching a fit to swim in the local ponds that we would pass, or plop down in all the water puddles, or bite at all the sprinklers along the way. I would even find her sitting in her water bowl countless times while playing outside! She is the primary reason I bought a cabin on Anthony City Lake, so she would have a place to swim her heart out and she does exactly that, pretty much non-stop when they are out there! Her favorite thing is to play “stick” in the water. Her other passion ... or obsession, is chasing squirrels! Dusty has so much drive and determination ... and focus. She does everything 150% and makes me realize that we could accomplish so much more if we would just have that same drive. She can do things because she doesn’t know she can’t! Outside, Dusty loves to play, but inside she’s very laid back. Dusty was definitely heaven sent. She is the perfect little companion!
